Lili woke up with a croupy sounding cough this morning. It is not too bad but I hope it does not get worse. We met our guide in the lobby at 10am. We did a lot of touring around the city and saw a lot of beautiful sites. Nanchang has many different rivers and a large man made lake. One of the rivers divides "New Nanchang" and "Old Nanchang". Our guide says that new Nanchang will soon be where the city is most popular... the apartments are very expensive but the traffic is much, much less. Nanchang is remarkably different than Changsha (where Meili is from) - Nanchang is more upscale (in comparison to Changsha-we are still in China) and Changsha appears to be a much poorer city with a lot more farming... Nanchang is definitely more modern but not as modern as Beijing. The population of Nanchang is 4.5 million people - the traffic is just as scary - it is unbelievable how well the cars, pedestrians, bikes, scooters, etc can all share the same lane and share with people coming straight at them - it is like a game of chicken all of the time... what car will get out of the way first...??? - they barely slide by each other each time. We saw the tallest ferris wheel (their English translation is sky wheel) in China - it is the 2nd tallest in the world - it is 160 meters (we think meters) high... unfortunately (not) the sky wheel is closed during the winter months (it puts the one at Disneyland to shame - I can ride any ride but not a ferris wheel)
We are back at the hotel early again today. Our guide did help us get some food today and that has been great - we were getting tired of rice :) We look forward to seeing how Lili opens up this afternoon/evening.
We hope all is well! Mckenzie,Melanie and Lili

I love reading about your experiences there in China and with Lily. Your pictures are great, you all look so happy. I bet Scott and your other kids can hardly wait to have you all home and to be with your new little one. It is all so exciting!
